Well, what can I tell you about myself. I love being in the outdoors. Camping, hiking, collecting rocks
and minerals . I feel that we all need to reconnect with nature at one time or another so we can go back and
feel the real world. Not the concrete jungle that most of us live in from day to day. We are surrounded by pavement,
automobiles, cellphones, cell towers and a host of other artificial environments ..
I am a Interfaith
Minister and have studied Reiki, crystals and other energy healing techniques. To have a healthy mind ,body and spirit
we need to have balance in all parts of our life.
I decided to use natural stones in my designs so everyone
can always carry a piece of the earth with them, to remind them of the beauty of pure nature that the Divine has given to
us. I also use the spiral in my designs which has been used to represent the Divine Energy of Creation and
to help us to connect with that energy to bring us harmony in this world.
Now on to my use of silver.
I first caught the silver bug while working with my Grandfather, Ludwig Wolpert . As a teen I helped to polish
his amazing creations that are still on display in the Jewish Museum in NYC...I was amazed at what can be done with a little
imagination . My life and family took me in a different direction while my children were
young, but I still was ‘making stuff’. Although never far from jewelry I was always working and creating things
with my hands.
In the early 1990's I was injured and was unable to return to the job I had for
25 yrs ,working in the concrete jungle of New York City.
After going through physical therapy for about a year
I was ready to move on. I needed to do something I enjoyed . Making jewelry was what I wanted to do. I found a
job in upstate New York working as an apprentice, finishing the pieces of a world renowned Jewelry
designer. After that I went to study jewelry design and silver work at a local college.
In the early 1990's
I started Sweet Whispers Jewelry. It was a name that I chose to represent the subtle energy that comes from each piece.
If you listen closely you to can 'hear' the 'Sweet Whisper' of each stone. Now I am doing my own
designs.
Each Sterling Silver jewelry piece is made from a hand picked stone and balanced with accents to compliment
the presence of the stone and its natural color variations. It is as if the stone has its own voice of color.
Enjoy your
jewelry purchase and enjoy all life holds for you…
May each day be a smile…
